The Holidays

Sydney is growing so quickly, she is getting to be so big. She is very insistent on standing up and her legs are so strong. She is loving her exersaucer

It has been a very busy holiday season, I wouldn't have expected how much work it was. Thanksgiving was very fun. We spent Thanksgiving with my family and again JD loves holding Sydney.

We then spent the weekend at Rich's parents where Lanie is such a great older cousin, she is always ready to help change Sydney's diapers.

She went to her Dermatalogist right after Thanksgiving and he was very happy to see that her hemangioma on her nose is getting smaller, he increased her dosage because she is gaining weight. She also had her 4 month check-up where she weighed in at 15 pounds 3 ounces (75%). She had another round of immunizations. This didn't go so well this time. I took her home from daycare where she cried most of the night. The doctor gave us the go ahead to start her on rice cereal. I was very excited and started it that weekend. She is loving it. We are also starting to let her taste other foods as well, she loves sharing a banana with Daddy at breakfast.

And as soon as Thanksgiving was over, the Christmas celebrations had started. We picked out our christmas tree as a whole family, it was a great success. We found our tree quickly and Sydney had her moments of impatience, but was overall content. We finally decorated the house after a week of doing it a little bit at a time, Polly is enjoying the nice snow blanket on the TV cabinet.

Sydney was paraded out to a few parties where she was amazingly very well behaved. Sydney received her first gift from Santa at my work's holiday party, it was a rattle. She had her picture taken many times in front of a christmas tree in hopes to get a good photo for cards.

We have been having a great time playing with her and loving her responses, she is now talking and laughing quite a lot.

She had her first ornament delivered to her by her Grandpa.

We celebrated Christmas with Rich's cousins the Sunday before Christmas. As I was getting her ready for the day, I discovered that she has a TOOTH that has surfaced. I was soooo excited! This party was the first time all the cousins were together in several years, it was a very nice day.

We spent Christmas Eve at Rich's parents, where we had a wonderful breakfast and unwrapped gifts. Sydney actually assisted with the unwrapping. Later that day we celebrated at the Rich's Aunt's house and then we swung in to visit other friends as we headed home, it was a LONG day and Sydney did not want to take anytime to nap.

We happily settled ourselves into our home on Christmas eve and woke up for Christmas morning and unwrapped gifts at our house where Santa came with gifts for Sydney (even though we did not leave out milk and cookies). We spent Christmas afternoon and evening at my families. It was a wonderful first Christmas with Sydney and we couldn't be happier!

Halloween and 3 months

Sydney had her 2nd appointment with her Dermatologist about her nose. Good news! It is stable, and maybe slight decrease. He doubled her dose and maybe we will see a decrease over the next month. I knew the Dermatologist was odd, but when he showed up in a Star Trek captain's costume and said "Live long and prosper", I had to laugh. Although, in his defense, it was the day before Halloween.
She also had the pleasure to meet the wonderful coworkers of her Grandma's at Masco, so she could thank them personally for all the wonderful things that they gave her.
We spent Halloween out in West Hickory and she had her first 'Trick or Treating' experience with her cousins, Daniel and Trevor.

She has finally hit the 3 month mark and she is so active. She now can get her thumb to her mouth without getting frustrated, along with many other objects. She is insistant on holding onto my clothes whenever I am holding her and drooling like crazy. Sydney thinks she is older than what she is, she gets frustrated everytime she is laying on her back, she throws herself forward because she wants to sit up and wants to stand quite a bit. She has rolled over a couple of times and is sleeping through the night, at least most nights. Ms. Parveen keeps telling me that she acts older than her age. Well, what can I say, Rich and I did a good job.

2 months

Can you believe that she is two months aleady?

I am back to work and Sydney has started daycare. She loves her Ms. Parveen and Khalida and is adjusting great. The first day was rough, she cried for the whole morning and didn't sleep at all, but the last two weeks have been much better.

She went to her 2 month Dr. appointment and she got her first round of immunizations. She did very well, she cried while she got the shots but fell asleep within 3 minutes. She weighed in at 11 pounds 2 ounces. She has also gone to a specialist for her hemangioma on her nose and we have started her on medicine to keep it from growing, it is working great! We have actually seen a decrease in it.

Her grandparents can't keep their hands off from her. She is definately loved by them all.

We went to Binder Park's ZooBoo and Sydney went as a Penguin (costume #1, her bat costume didn't arrive in time). Sydney and Lanie had fun, but it was awfully cold.

The next day we tried to take her to the cider mill and get a few cute pictures, but she slept through it all. We did get a picture in before we left home.

She is getting so big, she has even begun to roll onto her side in her crib.

She has animal friends

She is even pushing buttons on her own.

And lastly, she can relax with Daddy after a long hard day at school.

She is growing so fast.

She is now 8 weeks old already,I can't believe how much she has changed. At her 1 month appointment she weighed 9 lbs 2 oz. and had grown almost 2 inches. We took her on our first trip to West Hickory to introduce her to my family. I think she was well liked.

We are working on getting her on a sleep schedule, it is a work in progress.
Sydney finally got to meet many of our friends at Stacey and Ali's barbecue where she met all the little ones that she will grow up playing with.

She is developing a very strong neck even though she spends her belly time trying to figure out how to crawl. She is approaching her 2 months and we are preparing for her next doctor's appointment and the dreaded shots.
